2010 Vermont to Quebec

EFI

A unique trip for Go Sojourn, this was a point-to-point ride from Burlington, VT to Quebec City, Quebec.  Eighteen riders set off from Burlington, VT and, of the eighteen, almost all of us rode EFI--Every Fantastic Inch.  Yes, that's "Fantastic" not that other f-word as some might believe.

Sure, it rained for part of almost every day; sure, when it wasn't raining it was very hot; yes, the last day's ride was nearly 90 miles, and, of course, we can't fail to note that the leaders tossed in one of the nastiest hills some of us had ever seen near the end of that 90 mile day, but, really, it was Every Fantastic Inch.  Really!

From the rolling farmlands of Vermont to the linear, river-side farms of Quebec and to the small towns and larger cities, the road was manifique!  As we headed down the Richelieu River to the St Lawrence and then down the St. Lawrence to Quebec the road was flat and the wind almost always at our back.  Some days, it didn't even feel like work.

But what it did feel like was that we had left North America.  Quebec is unique and the difference in culture was apparent and appreciated, even if our French was beyond inadequate.

With two pre and two post-tour rides with some rolling hills, our total mileage for the trip was a little over 500 miles.  The longest to date, but, also some of the easiest miles we've put in.
