Cassandra Thorn is not so much a name as a state of mind.
As told in Greek literature, Cassandra was given the gift of prophecy by Apollo, but after refusing to respond with proper adoration was then cursed such that no one would ever believe her.
Those of us not of the "yes-sir" persuasion often find ourselves in the role of Cassandra. Our employers provide us with opportunities to learn and expand our knowledge, but, because we don't return their gift with the proper adoration and company patriotism, we are, in turn, cursed by never being believed. Yes, we speak the truth they don't want to hear and no one will ever believe us.
And, what about "Thorn"? "Thorn" finishes out the state of mind. We must speak our mind. We must tell the truth. We know we won't be believed, but a thorn unto their side we will always remain.
