Road to Folly
Dysert O'Dea is a nice castle, some valid medieval ruins, and a few follies. Archaeological guides discount much of the claims, but that didn't stop us from looking for the hillfort. We found a hill, but whether it was actually a hill fort is unknown. However, outside of the owners of Dysert O'Dea no one claims that a hillfort exists. They do agree that the area we crossed to get to the hillfort was a 14th century battle ground.
