The trail to the top of the mountain was mostly sleeper trail with a little rock thrown in. Much, much easier to navigate that leaping between grass clumps in bog--almost to the point of feeling like you were cheating.
Doo Lough is clearly visible in the foreground. From ground level it was rarely seen and looked more like a marsh.
The story goes that the hill held the last pair of nesting eagles in Ireland.
