2007 Italy -- Cycling Umbria and Marche
Wandered the streets of Ostia Antica, the original port of Rome.
Ride from Tuscania around Lago di Bolsena, lunch in Monteiascone and to Orvieto (where the rain begins).
Orvieto rain day. Estrucan museums and tombs.
Ride from Orvieto through Todi to Spello. Afternoon rain.
Loop ride from Spello to Assisi for lunch. Amazingly flat, for CycleItalia.
Ride from Spello to San Severino. Well, Spello to just past Colle Croce when the rain started.
Loop ride out of San Severino to Apiro, down to the reservoir, back up to Cingoli and down to San Severino. More rain.
No rain! Full ride from San Severino to Monteconero. Lots of short steep climbs that got longer as the day progressed.
Walk around Monte Conero looking for Bronze Age rock art
